Dynamic Email

Gmail's name for AMP emails — messages whose content can update and be acted on inside the inbox.

Dynamic email is the name Gmail uses for emails built with AMP for Email. A dynamic email can show content fetched when it is opened and let the reader act — submit a form, answer a poll, browse a carousel — without leaving Gmail. Gmail renders dynamic content only from sending addresses Google has registered, and readers can turn dynamic email off in Gmail's settings, in which case they see the email's HTML version. The term is also used loosely for any email whose content is decided at open time, such as an image ad chosen when the email is opened; that approach (open-time ad serving) works in every mail app and needs no AMP.
