Read your interactive ad reports
See what readers did with your interactive ads, what each figure means and how to download every response.
Updated 2026-11-02
Interactive Reports shows what readers did inside the email. Reports count what happened, and never show who a reader is.
Steps
- Open Interactive Reports.
- Pick 7 days, 30 days or 90 days, or set From and To. The report opens on the last 30 days.
- Read the cards, then From seeing the ad to acting and By day.
- Under your ads, open one to see its results.
For agencies
Choose the client under Advertiser first.
What the figures mean
| Figure | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Impressions | Interactive plus static. Counted once when the ad renders, not when the mail app fetches the slot |
| Readers who acted | Different readers who did anything with the ad |
| Engagement rate | Impressions where the reader did anything, as a share of interactive impressions |
| Responses | Votes, answers, ratings, codes revealed, calculations and forms sent |
| Response rate | Responses as a share of interactive impressions |
| Leads | Lead forms, subscribes and RSVPs sent |
| CTR | Clicks as a share of all impressions |
Static readers can't interact, so rates use interactive impressions. CTR is the one exception.
For advertisers and agencies
Spend is what you paid for impressions. Per response is spend divided by responses. It is shown for comparison only, because results are never charged.
For publishers
Revenue is the value of the impressions at each ad's CPM, and eCPM is revenue per thousand impressions. For what you are paid, use your wallet.
One ad's results
Open an ad to see three tabs.
- Results: what readers did, in the shape of the format. For example, the answers to a poll, the share correct on a quiz, or registrations per time on an RSVP.
- Responses: each thing a reader did, with the newsletter and mailbox. Filter it with Show, and select Download CSV to export it.
- Breakdown: by newsletter, by mailbox, and which link readers clicked.
If the ad collected leads, select See who signed up in Leads. See Read and export your leads.
For publishers
You can open your own campaigns' ads here. Answers to an advertiser's ad belong to that advertiser, so those ads show only in your totals and format table.
For publishers
Your slots
Your slots shows what happened each time a reader opened an email with a slot.
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Opens | Times the slot was asked for an ad |
| Ads shown | An ad served |
| House module | Your house module showed |
| Closed (no ad) | Nothing won and the slot closed |
| Too tall | An ad was turned away because it needs more than the maximum height |
| Blocked | The tag was opened somewhere it can't serve, such as an email from an address not on the unit |
| Filled | The share of opens that showed an ad or your house module |
If Too tall is high, raise the slot's maximum height. If Blocked is high, run the test email check on Interactive Setup.
Your house modules shows views and answers for each house module. They are free and never billed.
If something goes wrong
- "No interactive impressions in this period". Figures appear once an interactive ad has been opened in Gmail, Yahoo Mail or AOL. Try a longer date range.
- Static impressions but no interactive ones. Your readers may be on mail apps without AMP, or the sending address isn't approved yet. See what readers see.
