Answer a deal offer

When the other side sends an offer, only you can answer it. The sender can take it back until you do.

Before you start

You need the Owner, Admin or Manager permission on your team.

Steps

1. Open Deals and go to Needs your response.
2. Open the deal. The Open offer card shows the terms, who sent them, any message and the answer by date. If this is a counter-offer, a Changed line lists what's different, and those terms are highlighted.
3. Choose one:
   • Accept agrees the terms as they stand.
   • Counter-offer lets you change the terms and add a message, then Send.
   • Decline ends the offer. A reason is optional, and the other side sees it.

What happens next

• After you accept, the deal becomes Agreed. The other side gets an email. Next, the buyer sets up delivery.
• After you counter, it's the other side's turn, with a new 14 days to answer. Every version stays under History.
• After you decline, a new deal closes as Declined. If the offer was a change to an agreed deal, the agreed terms keep running.

If you sent the offer

While the other side hasn't answered, you can select Withdraw my offer. A new deal closes as Withdrawn. If the offer was a change to an agreed deal, the agreed terms keep running.

If nobody answers

An offer lasts 14 days. After that:

• A deal that was never agreed closes as Expired, and the sender gets an email.
• A proposed change to an agreed deal lapses, and the agreed terms keep running.

If something goes wrong

• Accept fails with a message about the terms. Terms are checked again when you answer. Something may have changed since the offer was sent: the end date passed, the publisher lost its verification, or the advertiser's account was paused. Fix what the message names, or send a counter-offer with new terms.
• "The deal changed meanwhile." Someone acted on the deal while you had it open. Reload the page and try again.
• You don't see Accept. You can't answer your own offer, and an Analyst can't act on a deal.
