Block ad categories and brands
Ask for categories or advertiser domains to be blocked from your newsletter, and see what a block covers.
Updated 2026-11-02
You can keep ad categories and specific advertisers out of your newsletter. The MailAdx team sets these block lists for you.
Steps
- Note your Publisher ID from Account.
- Write to support@mailadx.com with your Publisher ID and what you want blocked:
- Ad categories, such as gambling or alcohol.
- Advertiser domains, such as
competitor.com.
What happens next
Once a list is set, ads that match it don't show in your slots. This also covers third-party DSP bids and your own direct-sold campaigns.
- A category block catches creatives labelled with that category. A label is optional on a creative, so to keep one brand out, block its domain as well.
- A domain block catches the advertiser's website, its verified domains and the page the ad clicks through to. Subdomains are included, so
competitor.comalso blocksshop.competitor.com.
Blocks reduce the campaigns that can fill your slots, so your fill rate may drop.
Your own topics are different. You set those yourself under What your newsletter covers on Inventory Details. Advertisers use them to find you.
If something goes wrong
- A blocked brand still appears. Send the ad's click-through address to support@mailadx.com. It may be running from a domain that isn't on your list yet.
