Get a creative approved
How review works, where to find a rejection reason, and what sends an approved creative back for review.
Updated 2026-11-02
Every creative is reviewed by MailAdx before it can serve. Review checks the ad and its landing page against the Advertising Policy.
Approval status
The Approval column on Creatives shows where each creative stands.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Pending Review | Waiting for review. It can't serve yet. |
| Approved | It can serve on any line item that uses it. |
| Rejected | It can't serve. A reason is attached. |
You can attach a creative to a line item while it's pending. The line item starts serving once the creative is approved, if everything else is ready.
Pass review the first time
Read what ads are allowed before you submit. It covers what's refused, what has conditions, and what a creative and its landing page must do. The Advertising Policy is the full list.
The reviewer also sees whether your click goes to one of your verified domains. A landing page on another domain isn't rejected for that alone, because a click may go to an app store or a marketplace listing.
If your creative is rejected
- Open Creatives and click the creative's row.
- Read the Rejection Reason. The reviewer writes this for you, so it says what needs to change. You also get an alert under Alerts.
- Select the edit button and fix what it asks for.
- Select Apply Changes. The creative goes back to Pending Review.
Only a change to the ad itself sends it back. Renaming a rejected creative leaves it rejected.
The edit form covers the name, click-through URL, size and native text and images. To change an uploaded image, the category or the tracking pixel, make a new creative instead.
Changing an approved creative
Changing anything reviewed, such as the landing page, the size, or native text or images, sends an approved creative back to Pending Review. It stops serving until it's approved again. Renaming it doesn't.
To avoid a gap in delivery, make a new creative and wait for it to be approved. Then choose it on the line item in place of the old one.
Approval isn't permanent. MailAdx can review, pause or remove a creative later, including one it approved before.
Appeal a decision
You can appeal within 30 days. See restrictions and appeals.
For agencies
A rejection reaches the agency as well as the client account. The alert title names the client.
If something goes wrong
- It's been Pending Review for a while. Review has no set time. Contact support@mailadx.com if your flight is close.
- The line item says "Creative is not approved yet". See Why a line item isn't delivering.
